Beach Clean Up

Join us in an effort to keep the beach clean and clear of trash and debris from 9am-12pm on Sunday, May 21, 2023. We will provide gloves and bags to collect trash and recyclables, as well as a data card to assess our impact and report to the State. As a thank you for your efforts you will receive a complimentary pass good for one 2.5-hour stand up paddleboard or kayak rental. Bring the whole family down for the beach clean up in the morning and then enjoy an afternoon on the water with your complimentary rental passes. The beach clean up is in cooperation with I Love a Clean San Diego and the Adopt-A-Beach Program. No registration is required.

Free Life Jacket Giveaway

Make sure that you and your family are well-equipped for a safe, enjoyable time on and around the water this summer by having properly fitting and appropriate life jackets. To help, we will be giving away a limited number of free youth and adult life jackets. Life jackets will be available for pick up on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from 10:00am-2:00pm while supplies last. The life jackets are provided as part of a grant from the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways.

Life jackets are essential safety equipment for those spending time on or around the water. In 2022 drowning was reported as the cause of death in three-fourths of all boating-related fatalities, with approximately 85 percent of those who drowned not wearing life jackets. Please do your part to wear a life jacket and stop preventable drownings.
