MBAC Awarded Highest Honor at National Sailing Symposium

US Sailing Outstanding Community Sailing Program
On February 17th, the Mission Bay Aquatic Center (MBAC) was recognized as the Outstanding Community Sailing Program at the US Sailing National Sailing Symposium in Austin, Texas.  US Sailing is the national governing body of the sport of sailing and “Member National Authority” of the International Sailing Federation.

This is the highest honor awarded annually to a community sailing program that has made notable contributions to promote public access sailing and community involvement.  From the US Sailing website, “With its growing sailing program and expansive aquatics training and safety programs, the Mission Bay Aquatic Center is the epitome of community sailing. This highly sustainable program is a model of excellence for other programs to emulate in both community service and efficiency of operation.”

MBAC was among 18 schools nominated throughout the country for promoting access to sailing and being a leader in the sailing industry.
