Many people have the impression that getting up on a wakeboard, waterski, or wakesurfer is very difficult, but it is actually quite easy if you use the correct technique.
Follow the tips below and you’ll find yourself up and riding in no time.
- Put yourself in the correct body position, which is the same no matter what you are riding: face the boat with your knees bent and arms straight while holding the handle with both hands.
- Relax and focus on holding this body position. Yell “Hit it” when you are ready.
- As you feel the pull of the boat, focus on holding your body position. Let the boat do all the work and leave your arms straight and knees bent.
- Once you are on top of the water extend your legs and rotate the handle towards your lead hip (wakeboard and wakesurf). Leave your arms extended.
