Opening day of registration for any camp can be an anxiety-inducing experience. To put you at ease and help things go as smoothly as possible, we’ve compiled our top tips so you know what to expect and how to be prepared when registration opens.
Registration Opens: Monday, March 3, 2025, at 8:30 AM at watersportscamp.com
Create an Account in Advance
To save time on registration day, we strongly recommend:
- New users: Create an account ahead of time. Note: Account creation will close 24 hours before registration opens. *Make sure to enter your child’s birthdate correctly. You will only see activity options available for your camper’s age range. If you accidentally enter the wrong birth year, you will not see any activity options.
- Returning users: Log in beforehand to ensure you can access your account.
- Review and update your Household and Camper Information Forms so everything is ready to go.
Waiting Room
When registration opens, many families will be trying to sign up at the same time. To prevent server overload and allow for a smooth, error-free process, a waiting room queue may be initiated.
Here’s how it works:
- Once the system reaches capacity, additional users will be placed in a waiting room.
- If you land on the waiting room page, keep refreshing your browser until space becomes available.
- As families complete their registrations, more users will be allowed in.
In 2024, the waiting room was active from 8:30 AM to 8:40 AM, after which users were able to log in without delay. Please be patient and continue refreshing your browser until you gain access.
Adding Camps to Your Cart
Once you add a camp activity to your cart, it is reserved for you—but only for a limited time. Keep in mind:
- You’ll have 10 minutes to complete checkout before your cart expires.
- If your session times out, the camp spots will be released back for others to register.
- If your cart expires, you’ll need to re-add those camps (if they are still available) before checking out.
Understanding Waitlist Options
If your desired camp is full, you still have a chance to get in! Our waitlist system allows you to hold a backup spot or wait for your preferred activity. When adding a camp to the waitlist, you’ll have two options:
✅ Option 1 – Waitlist This Item: Choose this option to add your camper to the waitlist while registering for a different activity in the same week. You must select an alternate activity to complete your waitlist registration. If no alternatives work for you, remove the waitlisted activity from your cart and choose Option 2 below.
✅ Option 2 – Waitlist for Both: Choose this option to waitlist for the activity and week without registering for an alternative and you only want to enroll if a spot opens in your waitlisted activity.
Important: Simply adding a waitlisted activity to your cart does not complete the process. You must proceed through checkout to confirm your place on the waitlist. A confirmation email will be sent once successfully added.

Have Backup Options Ready
Have a plan B ready in case your top choice camp is filled. Talk to your camper in advance about their ranking of which activities they prefer, and if needed, register them for alternative options and waitlist for their top choice activity.
Check Your School District Calendar
With multiple school districts in the San Diego area, school start and end dates vary. San Diego Unified School District (the county’s largest district) will let out in May this year so camp will start on Monday, June 2, 2025, one week earlier than normal.
If you are in SDUSD, be mindful that the school year begins on August 11, 2025, one week earlier than last year. For non-SDUSD students, Weeks 11 & 12 can be a great opportunity to secure a spot in a popular camp activity!
