Special spring break youth sailing classes

spring break youth sailing Looking for some fun on the water this spring break? We will be offering some special weekday sessions of our youth sailing classes March 28-April 1. Plan for a great time this break in these special classes taught by the same instructors and counselors campers rave about during summer! This spring break we are offering a Youth Basic Sailing class on March 28th & 29th from 9am-4pm, and an Youth Advanced Sailing class on March 30th & April 1st (no class March 31) from 9am-4pm. Early drop off at 8am can be added for just $10.

In Youth Basic Sailing participants will learn the fundamentals of sailing including parts of the boat, rigging, tacking, and jibing, while developing a solid foundation and gaining confidence sailing their very own boat. Our basic sailing classes are designed to teach all age ranges, and are a valuable stepping stone for kids looking to get into sailing for the first time or add valuable skills to their sailing background.

Already taken Basic Sailing at camp and ready to move up to bigger boats or want to attend sailing classes all week long? Also available this Spring, Youth Advanced Sailing takes the foundation learned in Basic Sailing and develops knowledge and skills to be used aboard the Holder-14. Participants in this class will learn to sail as a team and with coaching from our instructors will push their sailing to new levels. Advanced Sailing is also the minimum sailing requirement for youth looking to become Counselors-in-Training, and will help develop skills needed to move on to Hobie Cat and Laser Sailing camps this summer.

There’s no better way to spend your spring break than on the water at MBAC. To register, visit our Youth & Family Classes webpage.
