On June 9th MBAC honored two MBAC Executive Committee members, Don Chadwick and Dave Koch, as they attended their last meeting before retiring from the board after serving for 37 years and 15 years respectively. During their combined 52 years of service their guidance and support was integral in creating the successful program that MBAC is today.
As an entity cooperatively operated by Associated Students of SDSU and UCSD Recreation, MBAC is overseen by the Mission Bay Aquatic Center Executive Committee, a board consisting of three representatives from each campus. Don Chadwick, Director of UCSD Facilities Planning and Management, was the committee chairperson for the past 15 years and held positions both at San Diego State University and the University of California San Diego during his 37 years on the committee. He was the Aztec Center Director at SDSU in the 1990’s.
Dave Koch was the Director of UCSD Recreation for the past 15 years where he presided over a period of tremendous expansion and program development. Their positions on the committee will be filled by Matt Adams Interim Director of UCSD Recreation, and Lourdes Dawson UCSD Sports Facilities Business Officer.
We congratulate Don and Dave on their retirement and thank them for their many years of dedication to MBAC.
