Classroom remodel brings new look and tech to MBAC
When past customers and staff return to MBAC after many years away, most fondly reminisce in the familiar sights and sounds of the center. Not much has changed in the look and feel of the building over the years, but in the first major renovation of the current century, our classrooms have been updated with a new look, and new function to start a new era in MBAC instruction.
National Safe Boating Week kick-off features free life jacket giveaway
In cooperation with the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways we will be kicking off National Safe Boating Week on Sunday, May 21st with our annual Safe Boating Day event featuring free activities including kayak and stand up paddleboard lessons and rentals, vessel inspections, and a life jacket giveaway. On February 17th, the Mission Bay Aquatic Center (MBAC) was recognized as the Outstanding Community Sailing Program at the US Sailing National Sailing Symposium in Austin, Texas. Superfans of Snapchat were excited to wake up and find that the much-hyped Snapbot was making an appearance in San Diego at none other than Mission Bay Aquatic Center. If you’re not familiar with the Snapbot, it is the only way for consumers to get their hands on Snapchat Spectacles–the company’s first foray into the tech gadget market.
