Help keep Mission Beach beautiful by volunteering with us to clean up the beach! We encourage you to join this community effort on Saturday, November 12 from 9am-12pm. Aside from spending quality time outdoors and getting some steps in, you’ll help create a safer environment for marine life and those who enjoy the beach. Children under the age of 10 will receive a free water safety coloring activity book for participating!

EDIT: 09/08/2022 9:21pm – FROM sdfestivalofthearts.org – The San Diego Festival of the Arts has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s festival which was slated for this coming weekend, September 10 and 11, at San Diego Surf Sports Park in North San Diego. The safety of our guests, volunteers, artists and their artwork, team members and support staff is our greatest concern and due to forecasted dangerous weather and potentially hazardous conditions, we have elected to cancel this year’s event.

Having fun at camp!

Keep the summer camp fun going this fall!

If your campers are not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet, Fall Enrichment Programs are the way to go! This September MBAC is offering a variety of fall enrichment programs for campers ages 7 through 15. In September our weekend programs include surfing, wakeboarding, and new this fall, marine science. These activities are offered on Saturday mornings for 4-sessions. These programs are a great way for campers to get outside and have some fun while getting back into the groove of school!

MBAC Instructor receives national recognition during International Women in Science Day

Recently, MBAC resident Marine Science Program Assistant, Sara Rosenblatt, was recognized by U.S. Sailing for her achievements in developing STEM programs for kids as part of International Women and Girls in Science Day. Sara, an SDSU Marine Ecology Masters candidate and U.S. Sailing Reach educator, has worked diligently to develop a marine science program at MBAC that inspires interest in ocean conservation, and develops lifelong connections to the ocean through real world experiences.
